Elbphilharmonie – coulors and forms

The Elbphilharmonie ( also shortened to “Elphi” ) is the concert hall located in the Hafencity in Hamburg which has been under construction since April, 2007. The draught and the other structural engineering plans of the building come from the Basel architect’s office Herzog & de Meuron. The building should have 26 floors after its completion, in which it is enclosed from the ground floor up to the Plaza on the eighth floor of the facade of dock warehouse A, a former cocoa, tea and tobacco store in an exposed part of the old Hamburg harbour, to the south of the Speicherstadt.

The topping-out ceremony took place after three years of construction in May, 2010. The final inspection should take place after the in June, 2013 agreed reorganisation by the Hamburger Citizens on the 31st of October, 2016. The public Plaza between the old building and new should be accessible to the public from November, 2016. The opening of the concert hall will be be marked with a concert on the 11th of January, 2017. (wikipedia)
